THE Shannon Bradshaw Trust has said a huge thank you to the family of Alan ‘Bundy’ Clare after they donated £3,000.
The death of the former Bank Quay Bulls player touched many hearts in the town with thousands of pounds being raised to pay for repatriation costs after he fell from a balcony in Spain last year.
Seven defibrillators have already been bought with money raised in the 34-year-old’s memory but the family also wanted to donate money to other good causes in the town.
Patti Bradshaw, from the children’s charity, said: “Alan's sister said they knew he would have wanted the money to go to a good cause and very kindly chose The Shannon Bradshaw Trust.
“I was totally gobsmacked when she e-mailed me.
“It was a fantastic surprise and they would also like to say a big thank you to all the people of Warrington, the Bank Quay social club and all their family and friends who helped to raise the money.”
