POLICE are investigating after a pensioner’s home was raided while she being was treated at hospital.

The burglary happened at an address on Birchfield Road, Great Sankey, during the late afternoon on Monday.

Police say the front door was forced open and property ransacked.

The victim’s daughter was ‘greatly distressed’ when discovering the break-in on Monday night.

A team from Warrington’s proactive unit at Cheshire Police are now hunting for two men seen in the area at the time of the burglary.

They are both described as white, aged between 15 and 16 years, of slim build and average height.

One male was wearing a dark coloured beanie hat and a black hooded jacket.

The second male wore a lighter coloured jacket.
