EARLIER today we printed a CCTV appeal over the apparent theft of a printer from Bargain Booze on Chester Road.

The information was provided by Cheshire Police but it has now emerged that no theft took place.

The man pictured in the footage was doing his job and picking up the printer for scrap metal, officers have now said.

Police say the missing printer was reported as a crime by shop staff who did not inform officers when it became clear that no theft happened.

We would like to apologise for any offence caused.
