A WOOLSTON driver caught when more than twice over the legal limit has been banned for 18 months.
Thomas James Powell, aged 20, of Hillock Lane, pleaded guilty to drink driving at Halton Magistrates Court on Thursday.
He was stopped by police on Knutsford Road at 6.30am on January 5 after officers noticed he was using fog lights when they were not needed.
A breath test shwoed 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The limit is 35.
The court heard he was leaving a friends where he had stayed overnight following a work’s Christmas dinner.
Powell was also fined £320 and told to pay costs of £85, and a victim surcharge of £32.
