STUDENTS at Priestley College got the chance to see firsthand the vital work of police sniffer dogs and their handlers.
HMP Manchester’s dog section visited the college to show public services students, many of whom have aspirations to join the police or Armed Forces, what they were capable of achieving.
Among them were dogs that search for drugs and others that are used to uncover phones hidden by prison inmates.
Tutor Chris Seaton said: “It was a unique experience and gave the students an insight into one of the different roles within the prison service.”
