POLICE have issued a warning over phones being stolen when left on tables in eateries in Warrington.

CSO Debbie Potts, from Cheshire Police, said thieves are distracting people and then taking smart phones when they are not looking.

Police say teams of thieves are travelling into the town to carry out the scam.

Anyone with information can call police on 101.
