THREE teenagers have been arrested after a Transit van was stolen and driven around in a joy ride.

The vehicle was taken from an address on Liverpool Road, Great Sankey, last Thursday.

Police say the stolen van was spotted by its owner the following day, who alerted officers.

It was stopped on Callands Road on Friday when two 16-year-old males and a 17-year-old male were arrested.

A 16-year-old male from Widnes has been charged with taking a vehicle without consent, and driving licence with no licence or insurance.

He is due to appear at Halton Magistrates Court on February 13.

Two other teenagers have been bailed by police until February 24.

Let's see if they get fined. Then let's see if the fine is anywhere near the cost that the insurance would have been for them to drive legitimately.

WG would benefit from a spellchecker or maybe let some school kids do some of the editorials. Since the price went up to £1 the quality of the reporting has gone rapidly downhill.

Lets see two vile scumbags rob an 87yo women of her life savings and made off in their transit van and after a high speed chase were caught and arrested. = Eight days prison with no financial penalty what so ever.
Three teenagers go for a joyride in a transit van = can't wait.
Still Grumpy (Not as Grumpy as the Police must be though)

Or if the victim receives enough compensation to cover his rise in insurance costs...

There is no joy in the "joy riding"for the owner of the vehicle.
