THERE will be no rise in how much residents pay for police services, it has been announced.
John Dwyer, Police and Crime Commissioner, said the police part of council tax will be frozen again this year.
Council tax is made up of payments to local authorities, police and fire.
Mr Dwyer announced the freeze as part of budget plans for 2014.
He said: “It has not been an easy budget to set as we are still facing cuts in funding from Government but I have also been mindful that the public of Cheshire are also facing difficult financial challenges, many have not received a pay rise in the last year and so I am not going to increase the amount they pay for policing."
The commissioner says he needs to make £34m savings over the next four years.
The total budget for policing in 2014/15 will be £189.8million.
