TWO men have been arrested after a police woman was left with a severely bruised leg trying to stop the pair wanted for burglary.
Colleagues initially thought the officer had broken her leg after one of the men ran into her after they gave chase on Bridge Street at 3.30pm yesterday, Monday.
The two men, from Runcorn, were followed by police after an Audi car, stolen during a burglary in Frodhsam in the early hours, had been spotted parked near The Village Hotel.
Officers said the pair tried to run away once they saw a marked car but were caught by plain clothes officers.
A number of items stolen during the burglary were later recovered from an alleyway near Bridge Street.
An underwater police team has also been also been searching the Mersey for the keys to the red Audi A3.
Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting incident number 512 of January 27.
