Warrington Guardian: Special recruitment deadline for Cheshire is Monday Special recruitment deadline for Cheshire is Monday

THE deadline to volunteer as a police officer is on Monday.

Applications for the next intake of special constables - a volunteer with police powers - must be in by then.

More than 130 people attended a seminar to find out more about volunteering at Cheshire Police.

Bosses say the event last week at the University of Chester’s Padgate campus was a success.

To apply go to cheshirespecials.co.uk.

With these volunteers doing police work free of charge our much loved PCC has been able to announce no increase in the amount of money council tax payers pay into the police budget, Volunteers receive no pay, No sick pay, No holiday pay, No pension and not much respect from a vast number of the general public. What we need now is a volunteer PCC and volunteer traffic wardens so we can reduce costs even further. You only get what you pay for in this life so if you don't pay don't expect too much.

Its always been unpaid - you may be confusing it with Community Support Officers.
