A 69-YEAR-OLD man from Appleton is thought to have been the victim who was hit by a train on Friday.

British Transport Police confirmed the man's age but said he was yet to have a formal identification. 

Emergency crews rushed to Warrington Bank Quay at 12.35pm but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
