RESIDENTS from across the town are being called on to attend a development control meeting deciding whether Arpley tip can remain open for a further five years.
Landfill owners had a 12 year extension to the life of the site turned down last year with an appeal set to be heard in February.
But councillors are now calling on homeowners living near the Sankey Bridges tip and across Warrington to make their feelings clear once again regarding the latest proposal on January 23 at the Parr Hall from 6.30pm.
Clr Pat Wright said: “This doesn’t just affect residents living on the Saxon Park estate and in Sankey Bridges, it affects everyone as we don’t want waste coming into Warrington from other towns.
“We’re calling on everybody again to show up and make their feelings clear.”
Tip owners FCC have argued there is still a need for the tip.
