POLICE are investigating after intruders tried to break into three homes in Woolston on Wednesday.

Officers say they were called to three reports of attempted burglaries between 5.38pm and 7.30pm.

They happened at houses on Fitzwater Road and Greymist Avenue.

Three men tried to enter each address but were scared off by homeowners.

The gang then attempted to break into a garage of a home on Langton Green but could not force the door open, say police.

Nothing was taken during the attempted burglaries.

The men are described as white, aged in their 20s, and between 5ft 10 and 5ft 11.

They were wearing dark clothing and dark baseball caps.

Twilight burglaries at this time of day increase over winter and police are warning residents to be vigilant.
