POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 75-year-old man suffered hip and leg injuries after being pushed off a train at Manchester Oxford Road station.
The victim, from Culcheth, was on-board a TransPennine Express service shortly before 6pm on Saturday, December 6.
PC Stephen Found, from British Transport Police, said: “When the train pulled in to the station the victim was pushed from the carriage and fell onto the platform.
“The assault was completely unprovoked and, on top of the injuries, left the victim extremely shaken.”
Police have now released a picture of a man they want to speak to in connection to the incident.
PC Found added: “I am convinced the man pictured has vital information about the incident and I am calling on anyone who recognises him, or who can assist our investigation, to come forward.”
Anyone with information can call BTP on 0800 40 50 40 quoting log NWA/B2 of 7/1/14.
