Warrington Guardian: More than 1,000 in town aged 90 or above More than 1,000 in town aged 90 or above

MORE than 1,000 people currently living in Warrington are aged 90 plus, according to latest statistics.


Figures have revealed there are 1,000 women and 300 men who are over 90 in the town with an estimated 37 who have celebrated their 100th birthday or older.


The news follows the Office for National Statistics predicting the number of over-80s in the UK is set to double to six million by 2037 with
111,000 centenarians in the same year– up from 13,000 in 2012.

Unless you know the figures for other areas it is quite meaningless when looking at local health services , not to mention various other demographic variables which would have to taken into account before seeing a thousand people in that age group as indicating how poor (or even "poop") Warrington Hospital is or isn't.
