Shooting inquiry at Rixton to restart next week

Warrington Guardian: Protestors at the inquiry in November Protestors at the inquiry in November

THE second part of a planning inquiry into the construction of a clay pigeon shooting club will resume next week at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Prospect Target Club is seeking planning permission to open the facilities at Prospect Farm on Prospect Lane after the application was turned down by Warrington Borough Council in February.

The blueprints are opposed by a number of residents due to noise impact and damage to Risley Moss.

It had also been argued that the development would have a harmful effect on a number of protective bird species with three local wildlife sites in close proximity.

The inquiry is expected to take three days and will resume on Tuesday, January 14 at 10am.
