CHESHIRE Police has re-launched its recruitment drive for special constables.

Specials are volunteers that are trained and have the same powers as a police officer.

The role is not paid, although some expenses and travel is covered.

It requires a commitment of at least 17 hours a month.

John Dwyer, Police and Crime Commisioner for Cheshire, wants to push the recruitment of special constables.

Cheshire Police is hosting a seminar at the University of Chester Padgate campus on Thursday, January 23 where people can find out more.

To register for the seminar, or to find out more about special constables, go to cheshire.police.uk/jobs/special-constables.aspx.
