A 22-YEAR-OLD man was given a fixed penalty notice after being caught drunkenly dancing on the River of Life fountain in the early hours of this morning.
Officers arrested the man after spotting him on CCTV cameras at 3am on Bridge Street on top of the memorial for Tim Parry and Johnathan Ball after the 1993 IRA bombing.
He had earlier picked up a bin on Sankey Street and thrown it down Bridge Street.
A spokesman added: “Officers asked him to put the bin back but he refused to do so and became abusive towards officers.”
