LABOUR parliamentary candidate Nick Bent says the town’s food bank has been busier than ever in the run up to Christmas.
Started a year ago, 100 people regularly volunteer to help pick up food, make parcels and talk to those who come looking for help.
At the Labour Party conference in Brighton in September, Mr Bent used his platform speech to thank churches and other volunteers who run the food bank.
Mr Bent said: “It’s tragic that in Tory Britain so many people now rely on food banks but this Christmas I commend the strong spirit of generosity shown by Warrington people who donate food, volunteer at our food bank and help others to get back on their feet.”
