2013 has been an exciting year for one young entrepreneur who earlier in the year quit his job to pursue his dream of running his own clothing business.

Angus Williams has said he is delighted his gamble has so far paid off after being flooded with positive festive feedback for his Pink Elephant brand at Christmas markets in the north west.

The 26-year-old now hopes to launch women’s and children’s lines in the future.

The former St Matthews and Bridgewater High School pupil said: “It’s been really nice to think I’ve got something that people want to buy.

“I have been doing a lot of the Christmas markets around Cheshire and Manchester as well as selling it online and a lot of people have said it catches their eye and they like the ideas behind it.

“Everything is designed and embroidered in the UK which was important to me as there doesn’t seem to be as many British brands anymore.”

After graduating from Liverpool University with a degree in engineering in 2009, Angus headed to London where he worked in the All Saints head office.

The fashion fan added: “I found out the owner of All Saints had done similar things to me and it was always in the back of my mind starting a clothing range was something I wanted to do.

“I came home at the start of the year and just thought I would give it a go.

“At times it’s been tricky but it’s something I’m really passionate about and It’s just started to really take off ahead of Christmas.”

Angus, who says the name Pink Elephant was developed through a process of elimination, added his dream is for the business to be as big as a ‘British quality brand’ like Barbour.
