VOLUNTEERS at the Samaritans of Warrington have been heralded as ‘inspirational’ by the charity’s chairman for giving up their time to support people in desperate need of support.
The team of volunteers are prepared to take in more calls during the winter season.
There will be eight volunteers from the 54-strong branch who will be on duty on Christmas Day, answering calls around the clock from people struggling to cope.
Stephen Hoddell said: “When many other services shut down for the holidays, our volunteers continue to be available, answering calls round the clock.
“Thank you to every single person who is spending Christmas volunteering - you are inspirational.”
