MORE than 1,000 people in Warrington have been claiming unemployment benefit for the past year according to latest figures.
The Office of National Statistics (OSN) has revealed unemployment has fallen by 29,000 in the past month in the north west - and is at the lowest level since 2009 nationally.
But the TUC says the fact that 1,020 people in Warrington have been claiming job seekers allowance since November 2012 proved more needs to be done to tackle the problem.
