HEALTH chiefs have revealed Warrington Hospital admissions for respiratory conditions are already rising as winter starts.

More doctors and nurses are available to deal with the problem but Warrington CCG bosses are also urging patients to do their bit ‘to keep well’ over the next few months.

Dr Andy Davies, chairman of Warrington CCG, said: “If you need medicines for a long term respiratory condition make sure you have a current supply and your self-management and actions plans are up to date.

“Influenza will make existing conditions worse so protect yourself with a free flu jab.”

Patients with lung condition COPD are also encouraged to stay warm, keep active and plan ahead with medication.
