SIX men charged in connection to a string of bank raids including one in Birchwood have appeared in court.

Kurt Beddoes, aged 31, from Liverpool, Ian Ellis, aged 29, from Rainhill, Craig Cartwright, aged 39, from Coventry, Anthony Bushell, aged 29, of no fixed abode, Gary Keating, aged 29, from Knowsley and Thomas Whittingham, aged 27, appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Keating appeared via videolink.

The men were allegedly involved in 16 burglaries and 14 attempted burglaries of cash machines, using gas ‘blasts’ to dislodge units.

One incident happened at Barclays on Dewhurst Road in September when money was stolen from an ATM.

All defendants were remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on January 2.

Beddoes and Ellis have already appeared in court in connection to the investigation.
