A NEW fundraising group to help raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care has launched in the town.

The West Warrington Fundraising Group has launched to raise funds for the charity.

The group is made up of people from the town who have a passion for making a difference to the lives of people who are terminally ill.

Michelle Bate, community fundraiser at Marie Curie Cancer Care, said: “The new fundraising group in West Warrington will make a huge difference locally by helping to raise the vital funds needed to support Marie Curie nurses, who provide free care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes.”

The group will meet regularly at The Black Horse pub on Old Liverpool road and will aim to raise more funds for the work of the charity.

The new group will be holding its first fundraising activity, a race night, on behalf of the charity and residents are invited to come along and take part from 7pm on February 1, 2014 at The Black Horse Pub.

Tickets are available in advance from Michelle on 0161 255 2809.
