MOVEMBER mania reached Warrington when a group of five friends decided to sport garish goatees and marvellous moustaches for the month.
Richard Evans, aged 53, Ian Brackenbury, aged 46, Jason Lewis, aged 40, Phil Mulhall, aged 38, and Tom Hill, aged 25, all took part in the month long facial hair growing competition.
Ian, who is a self-professed ‘facial hair virgin’, said: “We had done some research on pancreatic cancer and were shocked to discover that it is the fifth most common cause of cancer death in the UK.
“It also has the worst survival rate of all cancers yet it receives only one per cent of the funding available.”
The men, who all work for economic regeneration growth and environment at Warrington Borough Council, are hoping to raise more than £500 for the charity.
