DOCTORS are urging anyone eligible there is still time to get your free flu jab.

Warrington GPs still have supplies and are warning at risk people in particular to come and get a shot.

Dr Anita Malkhandi, the clinical lead for Integrated Care at Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group, said: "Getting vaccinated only takes a moment but it's very important.

“We still have stocks of flu vaccines I'm urging people to take advantage of this free chance to protect yourself this winter.”

You are eligible to receive a free flu jab if you are 65 years of age or over; pregnant; under 65 but have certain medical conditions that make you at risk like COPD, heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, hepatitis and HIV; living in a long-stay residential care home or other long-stay care facility; receive a carer's allowance, or you are the main carer for an elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if you fall ill; are a healthcare worker with direct patient contact or a social care worker.

You can get more information and can arrange to have a jab by contacting your doctors surgery.
