ADVICE on help for the borough’s carers was on hand at an open day.

The event on Friday was organised by Wired as part of Carers Rights Day where there was information about support out there for carers.

Clr Pat Wright, executive board member for health, wellbeing and adult services, said: “Carers Rights Day is about ensuring carers have access to the right information and advice they need to care.

“Carers often do not realise that practical support is available, like replacement care to give them time off, help with lifting and bathing, or equipment and home adaptations that can be vital in protecting their health.

“Sometimes carers can be caring for years and not realise their entitlements so we want to put that right. We also want to raise awareness to the public of the need for carers in Warrington.”
