WARRINGTON Wolves will be heading back to Australia for three weeks in January.

Wolves chief executive Andy Gatcliffe said flights are booked for the training sessions with the team to be based in Sydney.

It follows a similar trip in 2012 when the Wolves beat a South Sydney side.

But there will be no repeat in early 2014 with Mr Gatcliffe saying a game is unlikely due to the later start of the NRL season.

He said the trip follows a commitment by the Wolves to make the journey every two years.

He added: “It is great for the club’s profile and for the players.

“We are in a great position.

“It is a major boost for our players to be able to look forward to this and is a real attraction to being with this club.”

The Wolves had been holding flights for a possible World Club Challenge match, which will take place in Sydney in February 2014.

But after defeat to the Wigan in the Grand Final, they brought the trip forward to early January.
