Looking great for a fraction of the price
11:00am Thursday 24th October 2013 in News
GETTING ready for a night out on the town can be an expensive splurge but The Academy Hair and Beauty Salon at the Warrington Collegiate can help you feel a million dollars for a lot less.
The hair and beauty training centre are open to the public and provide professional treatments for cash-strapped clients.
It is an affordable haven where customers can prepare for a special occasion or indulge in a little bit of pampering at a fraction of the price.
The college on Winwick Road has the professional facilities that you would expect of a salon on the high street but with one difference, the beauticians and hair stylists are trainees.
If the idea of a trainee tampering with your luscious locks is enough to bring you out in a hot sweat, then using the salon is probably not for you.
But being sacrificed as a salon guinea pig is not nearly as scary as it sounds.
The Academy Hair and Beauty Salon has all the latest equipment, which allows the students to offer a variety of services from Hollywood lashes to non surgical face lifts while supervised by a qualified teacher.
Beauty Student Leanne Walker, aged 25, from Callands, said: “It’s a great service but I don’t think many people know it’s here.
“We have all had training so you can have something done for more than half the price.”
In Warrington, you would pay £20 to £30 for a 30 minute facial but at the beauty salon at the Warrington Collegiate, you would be charged only £4.
The salon is a great solution for beauty cheats who want to look good on the cheap, plus, if you work up an appetite while being pampered then the college has a licensed restaurant on site.
Buckley’s is run on the same premise as the hair and beauty salon with students, studying for a qualification in hospitality and catering, preparing and serving a three course menu.
