World Cup threatens happiness in this household!
4:00pm Thursday 24th October 2013 in News
THIS usually happy household will be split come Saturday as the Rugby League World Cup kicks off.
While Hazel, aged 39, will be looking forward to cheering on England, her husband Adrian Pollock hopes it will be New Zealand lifting the trophy on November 30.
It leaves daughter Leilani, aged five, torn over who to support during the tournament but the Latchford couple, who met in London 15 years ago, say they are happy for her to choose.
Warrington fan Hazel said: “We’re really looking forward to the World Cup kicking off but it’s definitely going to get competitive in our house.
“I think Wolfie tends to swing it for her but we’re going to let her make her own mind up about who she wants to support.
“We have watched games live before but have certainly followed World Cup games on the TV so we’re really excited to go to the some of the games.
“My husband just assumes New Zealand is going to win but I think England are going to thrash them!”
Adrian, who previously played for Moore rugby and played union in New Zealand said: “It’s exciting to have games played so close to us and it’s great for Warrington.
“In New Zealand it’s all rugby and rugby league and football never gets a mention but with a wife from England and my daughter being born here I’m not always as vocal about New Zealand!”
