Stockton Heath publisher praised in Parliament

A STOCKTON Heath book publisher was praised for its book titled Yes We Can Read in a debate at the Houses of Parliament.
The one-on-one reading tool for learners, which hopes to combat illiteracy across generations, was commended by Caroline Dinenage, MP for Gosport.
The book, written by author and former head teacher Libby Coleman, is based on idea that anyone who can read can use the tool to teach somebody who cannot.
The literacy scheme is currently being piloted in London-based homeless charity, The Passage, to help former rough sleepers develop their reading skills.
The scheme has been so successful that Westminster council has announced plans to roll out the project to all hostels in the area.
The book has also been made available to offenders in prison libraries.
