AN 86-year-old woman is in a critical condition in hospital after an accident in High Legh yesterday, Monday.
As reported in the Warrington Guardian yesterday, her car collided with a HGV on the A50 Knutsford Road, at the High Legh junction with the B5159 West Lane, near High Legh Village Hall.
She was a passenger in a silver Honda Jazz when it collided with an articulated Volvo.
The car left the carriageway and collided with a wall outside High Legh Village Hall before rebounding back into the carriageway.
Two people were in the car and were taken to Wythenshawe hospital. The 86-year-old woman is in a critical condition while an 87-year-old man who was driving suffered serious injuries but they are not considered life threatening.
The driver of the HGV was not injured but was suffering from shock, police said.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident number 356 of 14 October.
