Famous faces help out for Woolston charity calendar

A MUM of two boys decided to turn her charity fundraising vision into reality to help a centre which has made a difference for her family.
Laura Bringau, of Barham Court, Birchwood, has created a charity calendar with the help of some famous faces to raise money for the Woolston Play and Sensory Centre.
Her sons Sam, aged six and Louie, aged two and a half, both have autism and have benfitted from the safe play environment designed at the centre, based at Woolston Hub, on Hall Road.
The 27-year-old said: “I’ve had the idea for the calendar for about two years but I didn’t have the time as a full-time carer. It is only since Louie started nursery I have had the time.
“I wanted to raise money for something close to home and something based in Warrington.
“The first thing I did was call the sensory centre where my children have been to before. It makes perfect sense, it’s a fantastic service.
“We got all of the children together and decided who was going to do what.
“I got in touch with Warrington Disability Partnership and they said they would help us with the sales of the calendar and Birchwood Shopping Centre said they would give us a stall.
“There are so many people who want to support us, I have 70 calendars which have been sold already before it’s been printed.”
With the help of some of the Warrington Wolves players they hope to reach a wider audience too.
The much needed funding from the calendar will help to keep the centre offering its services to the community.
And it was those services which first brought Laura there.
“I was looking for places to send my son to go because he needed somewhere that could help with his behaviour,” she added. “I found it on the internet and came to have a look round and it was fantastic.
“The staff are fantastic and it’s all open plan so you can relax when your children are playing.”
The calendar will be available for release closer to Christmas.
