8:00am Saturday 19th October 2013 in News
WE take a look at the latest competitor in Warrington's Strictly Come Dancing contest.
It is raising money for St Rocco's and takes place in December.
Profession: Entrepreneur - owner of the Dress Studio in Culcheth and Miss Cheshire in 2010 About Holly Holly is Strictly St Rocco’s youngest contestant at 26. Holly is born and bred in Warrington. A local entrepreneur and former Miss Cheshire means that Holly has a real competitive streak and determined to go as far as possible in Strictly St Rocco’s.
Holly studied English at Manchester University while organising Miss Teen and Miss Galaxy Competitions at the same time.
After graduating Holly decided her main interest was in modelling events and fashion and thought she would put her experience to the test by opening her own shop The Dress Studio in January 2012.
Outside of work Holly enjoys spending time with friends and family and has a passion for food and cooking.
Holly’s involvement with St. Rocco’s While Miss Cheshire, Holly attended St Rocco’s events including the Dragon Boat Race.
Holly has always been keen to support the hospice as her grandparents are major supporters. Holly is keen to do her bit for charity and over the past five years has been responsible for raising more than £20,000 for charity with her business and modelling events.
Holly has been so busy she has not had an official launch night for the studio and is hoping to hold it in November in aid of St Rocco’s.
Holly’s experience with dancing As a little girl I did the usual ballet and tap lessons, but never quite grasped it and after dabbling in a bit of freestyle dance aged 14 decided ‘it’s not for me’. It was not that I didn’t enjoy it, as I found it great fun and good exercise.
It was that I found I could not progress from beginner’s standard.
Are you happy with your dance?
Yes I am happy with my dance it should be quite fun and even a bit of a sexy dance, which is good as I am far from graceful if I had been given a Waltz. I definitely cannot float and look elegant.
Are you excited, nervous or looking forward to the event?
At the moment I am just really excited about the night. I think it’s going to be a great night. I’m sure I will get nervous nearer the time especially as I am far from being a natural born dancer and I have the added pressure of all my family attending and I even have friends from London coming up to watch.
