Sign up to Warrington Borough Council's big switch
4:00pm Tuesday 8th October 2013 in News
THERE is still time to sign up to a scheme that could help cut your household bills by more than £100.
Collective switching is a way for communities to use their collective strengths to negotiate better deals and the scheme organised by Warrington Borough Council, has been extended to November 18.
Clr Russ Bowden, executive member for corporate resources and assignments said: “Over 100,000 British households have saved altogether £10 million a year through collective switching.”
Last year was the UK’s first collective switch, organised by Which? magazine. This led to 37,000 people switching energy suppliers, with an average saving of £223 per household.
Clr Bowden added: “Government research shows that only one in five British households are on the lowest possible tariff.
“So we want as many Warrington households as possible to join the scheme. The more thousands of people sign up to our scheme, the better deal we can hope to make.”
You can sign up online by visiting warrington.gov.uk/thebigswitch or alternatively call 442919.
