METAL Recycler EMR is pledging its support to a charity on its own doorstep.
The company, based on Delta Crescent, Westbrook, are backing Warrington Youth Club (WYC).
A year after its first fundraising event for the club and more than £16,000 in donations later, EMR has confirmed it will be the main sponsor for the first ever Warrington Youth Awards.
The awards ceremony will be held at the Peace Centre, home of WYC, on Saturday and will celebrate and acknowledge children and young adults who have done something special.
Ten awards will be handed out during the event with categories including learning achievement, supportive adult, learning journey and entrepreneur.
Angela Jones, human resources manager at EMR said: “We are fully committed to WYC and the awards ceremony is a great way of reminding us why.
“We have had teams participate in 60 mile cycles in the howling winds and pouring rain.
“To top it all several of our people now volunteer as mentors for the youth club’s buddy up scheme.”
Members of the company who have helped raise money will be at the youth awards to celebrate with the winners.
