Art exhibition goes on show at Hollins Park
11:30am Tuesday 1st October 2013 in News
WINWICK-based Hollins Park Hospital will once again open its doors on Sunday and give residents an opportunity to see works of art produced by people who have experience of mental ill-health.
Hollins Park Art Event, hosted by 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, will include music and poetry-reading, a scarecrow competition, wood-carving and willow art and an exhibition and sale of arts and crafts from 12 to 4pm.
Simon Barber, chief executive of the trust, said: “There is a wealth of artistic talent among our patients that we believe deserves to be recognised and celebrated.
“That’s why we’re asking people to come and see our hospital; meet some of the people we care for; take a look at their artwork and enjoy the performances they have worked so hard to prepare.”
The official opening of the new nature trail, circling Hollins Park’s grounds, will also take place on the day.
Parking in the hospital grounds is free.
