Warrington Borough Council working hard on new Ofsted child protection changes
11:30am Monday 30th September 2013 in News
LAST summer, Ofsted announced it would be taking a radical new approach to child protection inspections by extending their framework to encompass health, education, police and probation considerations.
Despite the tougher guidelines, services that support children and young people in Warrington received a ‘good’ rating in March, which they are now looking to improve on.
Kath O’Dwyer, executive director of children and young people’s services at the council, said: "This is a high priority for our teams who are working very hard to deliver positive change.
“Together we are making exceptional progress as we work to provide fit for purpose and robust services that support individuals and their families in the right way.”
Surveys undertaken by the council discovered that parents, who use the 12 children’s centres, were highly satisfied with the support.
A large majority surveyed also feel that the help and support has made a positive difference to their families.
