GET ready for Christmas with the annual Santa Dash in Birchwood.
It may be September but entries are now open for the Brainwave Santa Dash around the area on Sunday, December 8.
Leo Bouzaglo, aged three, from Latchford, launched this year’s event with the help of his sister Holly and a few friends.
Joanne Freeman, community manager at the Birchwood based charity, said: “ The Brainwave Santa Dash is an established event now in it’s fourth year raising much needed funds for the Brainwave Centre in Birchwood.
“A true festive event for the whole family to enjoy and help disabled children.”
Open to all ages, you can walk or run the 5km dash which starts at 10am. A 1km children’s Santa Parade, led by Father Christmas, also takes place.
Gary Jones, centre manager at Birchwood Shopping Centre which is sponsoring the event, said: “Once again Birchwood Shopping Centre is proud to sponsor and host the fourth running of the Brainwave Santa Dash.
“We have long been a supporter of Brainwave, and are extremely keen to help them raise as much money as possible to assist in the amazing work they carry out with disabled children here in Birchwood.
“The Santa Dash is a great fun event for both young and old, it is a great festive occasion, starting at the shopping centre, along the paths and parkland of Birchwood and finishing at the centre.”
Entry is £10 for adults and £5 for children, which covers the cost of the three piece Santa outfit and the children’s fee covers the cost of a Santa hat.
Brainwave supports children across the north west who have disabilities and developmental delay helping them to achieve life changing skills and greater independence.
