Hello Woodstock - Comedian gives back garden gig
1:20pm Friday 6th September 2013 in News
“IT’S the only time I can truly say ‘hello Woodstock’.”
Justin Moorhouse made a very exclusive appearance at Woodstock Gardens in Appleton after resident Julieanne Reily (correct spelling) won a national competition.
And not only did she win an intimate gig with the comedian Julieanne also won new decking ready to act as a stage for the special performance.
The confirmed competition nut Julieanne has been entering competitions for some time.
She said: “I’d try and enter as many as possible but this is the best I have ever won. The decking is so good and to have Justin here is so surreal.
“It couldn’t come at a better time either. Each year I spend days trying to fix-up my decking but it feels like an endless battle.
“Now I’ve had someone to do all the hard work for me along with some expert advice from the team at Ronseal.”
Justin rocked up to perform in front of Julieanne and her family and friends and topics of conversation included Warrington’s claim to fame Ikea and the number of roundabouts the Phoenix Nights star encountered on his journey into Warrington.
Speaking afterwards Justin said: “I thought it was going to be horrible. When they asked me to do it I said I would do it because they paid me. As the day drew nearer I wasn’t looking forward to it.
“It was much better than I thought it would be. I had a vision of people sat in deckchairs but it was very good and everyone was laughing.
“It was set up like a normal gig so it wasn’t so bad.”
And what was his small audience’s opinion?
“It was a really enjoyable day and I think everyone had a laugh,” added Julieanne.
