Warrington bus drivers start industrial action on Saturday
5:10pm Friday 30th August 2013 in News
BUS drivers will be taking industrial action this weekend in a row over a pay freeze.
Network Warrington trade union members will not be working overtime and a work to rule from tomorrow which means services could be affected on Saturday and Sunday.
The action is in response to a company decision to introduce a 12 month pay freeze - the first in 16 years - it says due to falling passenger numbers and reduced revenue.
Bosses at the bus company say service changes which start on Monday means distruptions will be minimal.
School services will also be unaffected.
The action will affect approximately 240 of the 275 employees at the company.
Ann Marie Slavin, Network Warrington interim managing director, said: "We will do everything possible to continue to run our services as normal during this time and we apologise in advance to any customers who may be inconvenienced."
The company's website will be updated during the weekend for any disruptions.
