A GROUP of fearless females are preparing to embark on their toughest running challenge to date when they compete in the English Half Marathon.
Wonder Women, an all female running group, will be tackling the 13.1 mile run around the borough on Sunday, September 8.
The group was founded by Latchford based keep fit enthusiast Victoria Royle. The group is open to women of all ages and ability.
Victoria, aged 33, said: “I realised when I came to Warrington that there were no female only running clubs.
“Wonder Women is not just a great way of keeping fit, but it is also a brilliant way of meeting new friends, feeling good about yourself and getting valuable down time in our hectic life.”
Wonder Women group member Sharon Dunne, who before joining the group admits to barely being able to run a minute, added: ”I was overwhelmed by how welcome the group made me feel.
“Wonder Women has given me such a sense of pride in achieving what I thought was impossible.”
As well as the challenge of the half marathon the group are looking to raise £1,000 for Motor Neurone Disease Association, a cause close to the group’s heart.
