Spike's 911 ready for single release

PREPARE to be thrown back to the 90s as fans await the new single from boyband 911.
Orford-born popstar Simon ‘Spike’ Dawbarn, alongside his band mates Lee Brennan and Jimmy Constable, from Runcorn, revealed the first play of the new track Two Hearts One Love on ITV show This Morning on Monday ahead of its September release.
And 39-year-old Spike says he has been amazed at the amount of interest and TV shows clamouring for them to make an appearance.
The former William Beamont High School pupil said: “It’s been mental, just like it was back in the day.
“When we did the single we were wondering if people would play it and want us on their shows but we were on Big Brother on Sunday then This Morning and they were fighting over who had the first play.
“This time around it’s a total laugh and we’re having a riot.
“We know everyone in the industry already and it just feels natural for us.
“I feel younger than when we first did it and I’m definitely fitter.”
The single will be swiftly followed by new album Illuminate: The Hits and More with seven of the now-turned manband’s greatest hits and seven new songs which Spike describes as a ‘more mature kind of pop’ and their best tracks yet.
911 were launched back into the spotlight earlier this year as ITV2 programme The Big Reunion followed five chart-toppers from the 90s and early noughties reform.
A UK tour following the successful show also meant a reunion for friends before the show Spike and Padgate popstar Kerry Katona.
The dad to five-year-old Phoenix said: “Me and Kerry had such a laugh on tour and going on stage she would shout ‘Do it for Warrington’.
“It felt like everyone on tour came from Warrington as even the chef was from the town.
“Since the Big Reunion I have been getting recognised a lot more and it’s been pretty mad.
“Phoenix has got used to it now but he didn’t like it at first and still finds it weird watching me on TV, especially when I’m stood next to him!”
