Police searching for missing Great Sankey man

Warrington Guardian: Stephen Evans Stephen Evans

POLICE say they are becoming 'increasingly concerned' for the welfare of a 60-year-old who has been missing since Saturday.

Stephen Evans left his house on Hilary Close, Great Sankey, to get a paper at around 8.30am on Saturday but has not returned.

Officers say he was last seen by his partner who is 'extremely upset and concerned' as his disappearance is described as extremely out of character.

Stephen is white, 5ft 10in tall of stocky build. He has a bald head, a grey beard and blue eyes. He was wearing a grey and white striped polo shirt with jeans, and left in his car, a silver BMW Tourer.

Inspector Neil Drum said: "We have followed a number of lines of inquiry since Stephen was reported missing to us on Saturday and are now extremely concerned that no one seems to have seen or heard from him in three days.

"He did not show up for his expected shift in work last night and we are now hoping the public will be able to help us.

"I would also appeal to Stephen himself get in touch and let us know you are safe."

Anyone with any information about Stephen’s whereabouts, or indeed Stephen himself, is urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1242 of July 6.

I am sure that you will have seen him on the numerous CCTV cameras in the area and on any motorways he may have used. Although that may be a line of enquiry you are following at the moment. I hope that you are successful in your arduous task and he is found.

I live round the corner from Hilary Close & there's two newsagents locally, 1 within a 5 minute walk. I found it strange he drove, unless of course he is unable to walk that far for whatever reason. Either way my only hope is he's found safe and well, it's heartbreaking to know his partner is so close with a broken heart & I can't do anything to help. I'm praying for you both xx
