TWO charities have welcomed a blooming brilliant donation of planters full of flowers.
The Peace Centre, which works with victims of terrorism, and Brainwave, which helps children with cerebral palsy and autism, were chosen to receive the flowerboxes following Golden Square’s allotment scheme last month.
It saw youngsters from across the town taking part in craft workshops including painting flowerpots and planting bulbs and seeds.
Wendy Parry, from the Peace Centre, said: “The peace garden is looking lovely at the moment and the flowerboxes will add a splash of colour just in time for the summer.
“This donation is even more special knowing that local young people have created them.”
