STUDENT indie band The Progress, are a teenage trio from Burtonwood, who formed in November 2011.

The Progress consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Cash Burns, age 17, bassist Tylor Caton, age 16, and drummer Lewis Hatton, age 16.

Drawing their musical influence from indie rock bands such as The Arctic Monkeys, The Courteeners and The Wombats, the trio aim to create a classic indie sound.

They have followed in the steps of one of their other idols, The Beatles, having impressively played at The Cavern Club in Liverpool.

Headlining a show such as the Warrington Music Festival is high on the list of their objectives for this year.

Cash said: “Having only ever been support acts, it would be amazing to have a headline slot at the festival.

“It is a great opportunity to gain more experience and also increase the size of our fan base.”
