TEENAGE indie rockers The Anecdotes, are a four-piece band from Stockton Heath who formed at the beginning of 2012.

The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Matt Hensley, aged 16, and 17-year-olds Mike Rowlinson playing lead guitar, bassist Nick Bradford and drummer Ellis Cullen.

The four Priestley College students list The Cribs, The Strokes and PEACE as their musical influences and have previously played at The Lounge, Warrington and at The Retro Bar, Manchester.

After taking time out from performing to record new songs, they are hoping to secure more gigs this year, one of them being the 2013 Warrington Music Festival.

Matt said: “We entered this competition because of the chance to headline the festival and also gain more support.

“A career in music is obviously difficult, but that is what we want to work towards.”
