IT was a fundraiser tennis players John Isner and Nicholas Mahut would have been proud of.

A 12 hour tennisathon at Padgate Tennis Club, Green Lane, was 55 minutes longer than the pair’s recording-breaking longest game at Wimbledon three years ago.

Six courts were open from 7am to 7pm on Saturday to raise cash for the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace with participants playing through wind, rain and some brief sunshine.

A raffle on the day raised £80 and sponsorship cash is hoped to total more than £350.

Warrington Male Voice Choir will also have a bucket collection during their concert on Saturday for the charity at the Pyramid and Parr hall and a quiz night fundraiser at the Red Lion pub, Moore, raised £173.

The charity has thanked everyone for their support.
