Snow hits town - again!

STEADY snow has hit Warrington again with heavy flurries at rush hour.

The bad weather started early this morning and is now heavy for motorists.

Main roads remain clear but more snow is forecast for the rest of the day in Warrington.

And the freezing conditions are expected to continue over the weekend - although not accompanied by the snow.

Meanwhile the Thelwall Viaduct has been slowed to 50mph due to the gusting winds.

Police say the motorways are passable but are slower than usual.

They have issued the following warning.

1 Only make journeys that are absolutely necessary.

2 Ensure your car is fully defrosted with full visibility.

3 Maintain a safe and constant speed and avoid sudden braking that can cause your car to skid.

Meanwhile, organisers of the Galloway Antiques Fair in Arley Hall say it is still taking place at Arley today despite the weather.

It is also on Saturday and Sunday between 10.30am and 5pm entry £5 with free parking,

Have only just had chance to read these webpages and I am wondering where these impassable motorways were this morning. I did the M56 to Manchester this morning and it was one of the clearest days I have driven it.
